Food & MenuFood & Menu

What is the signature dish?
Bonito salt-tataki. We sear only the surface on a hot iron plate so the inside stays raw, and serve it with salt rather than a sauce.
What is different about a salt-tataki?
The iron plate comes up hot and fast, so in a short time only the surface chars while the inside stays raw. That is why we serve it with salt.
Where does the fish come from?
Directly from Tsuruga in Fukui and Tosa-Saga in Kochi. What arrives changes with the day.
Is the sashimi the same every day?
No. We serve whatever came in that day, so the board changes.
What is the steamed dish like?
Steamed in an oversized bamboo basket — shumai and xiaolongbao, and pork belly with cabbage. We carry it out with the lid still on.
Is there something to finish with?
Seafood dashi chazuke and salted rice balls. Most people order them at the end of the night.
Are the prices listed here?
Individual prices are on the menu in the shop. The fish changes with what comes in, so we do not print prices here.
How much are the courses?
Three courses with 120 minutes of free-flow drinks: 4,400 yen (six dishes), 4,950 yen (seven dishes) and 5,500 yen (eight dishes). Tell us what you have in mind.
Can you deal with allergies?
Tell us before you order, or when you book if you are having a course. We will do what we can, and say so plainly if we cannot.
What if I do not like fish?
There are plenty of plates that are not fish — karaage, chicken skirt with black pepper, yam and bacon on the iron plate.

Sake & DrinksSake & Drinks

How many kinds of sake do you have?
Sixteen kinds, changing regularly. Ask across the counter for what is open that day.
Are the labels always the same?
We change them regularly. Sometimes a label stays, sometimes it is different every time you come.
I do not know which one to choose
Tell us what you are eating. Sashimi, bonito salt-tataki and steamed dishes all want different things, and we narrow it down from there.
I am not much of a sake drinker
Beer, highballs, sours, shochu and soft drinks. The lemon sour is squeezed to order.
Do you have free-flow drinks?
The courses come with 120 minutes of free-flow drinks: 4,400 yen (six dishes), 4,950 yen (seven dishes) and 5,500 yen (eight dishes).
One of us does not drink
We have soft drinks. Tell us when you book and we will keep an eye out.
Can we bring our own drinks?
We ask that you do not bring your own drinks.
Can we try a small pour?
It depends what is open that day. Ask across the counter.
